Sonoma County's Premier Practice 9-Hole Facility
 Our story begins in 1960 when Fairgrounds Golf Course opened to the public. Our 9-Hole course features two sets of tees for a golfing experience not unlike an 18-hole executive course. And since we re-opened after a complete redesign in 2006 we've become known as Sonoma County's premier practice facility. Because of our dedication to Junior Golf and growing the game, The National Golf Course Owner's Association has awarded the course Beginner Friendly Certification! We're quite proud of the fact that we are 1 of only 3 courses certified as Beginner Friendly in the North Bay.
Elsie Allen golf program looking to grow, improve
 Every match they play, golfers competing for Elsie Allen High know while they may post good individual results, the team outcome will always be a forfeit. That’s because the Lobos’ team is comprised of just three players this season.
“Road trips” to local courses for those three are often done on city buses because getting transportation has been a problem for coach Andrew Martin.
But through it all, Martin and his trio of players – two seniors and a sophomore – are trying to keep the program alive, hoping to build on the future. The Lobos, who practice and play.....Read More....

‘Yes, we are open!’
We get calls just about every morning, golfers asking “are you open?,” especially when it’s foggy, rainy, windy or whatever.
Our answer is always “yes we are, come on out.”
What we are finding out is that Fairgrounds GC, the course having been completely rebuilt following installation of the horse racing turf track six years ago, drains as well or better than just about any other course in the area.
It is becoming increasingly common for players to come off the last hole, praising the condition of the course. Our greens crew strives to keep the course playable, even in inclement weather.......Read More....
